Irish flagDIT is delighted to announce that it will host three International PhD students funded by the Irish Higher Education Authority through the Government of Ireland International Scholarships programme. The Government of Ireland – DIT Fiosraigh International Scholarships are awarded to high calibre, higher education students from Brazil, to study on a PhD programme at DIT for a period of one year.
The scholarships highlight Ireland’s strengths as a centre of international education, promote links with priority countries and strengthen the internationalisation strategies of HEIs.

The scholarship will be awarded to an incoming Brazilian PhD students to study for one year on one of our structured PhD pro-grammes, to undertake research in the field of New Materials and Technologies.

Successful candidates will be awarded €10,000 towards living expenses. Project costs will be provided by the DIT designated Research Centre/Research Institute hosting the visiting student. Although not mandatory it is recommended that the proposal for the work be designed in collaboration with the manager of the DIT Research Centre or head of the DIT research Institute where the work will be carried out. All applications will be submitted using the International Scholarships Application Form and must have the support of a potential supervisory team at a DIT Research Centre where the work will be carried out. Candidates will already be registered for a PhD programme at an ap-proved University or an approved equivalent degree-awarding body in Brazil and applicants must have the support of their home supervisor.
